DUBAI // If you can’t make it home from work for iftar, why not break your fast with your family virtually over the internet?

That’s one of the options for users of a new “Ramadan hub”, which Google is launching this week to celebrate the holy month.

The site, at google.com/ramadan, compiles feeds from YouTube, Hangouts, Keep and Play and selects data based on your location.

“For those away from home who can’t make it to iftar it’s easy to start a Hangouts session and break your fast with family or friends,” Google said. “Or if you’re travelling to see your loved ones in person, Google Maps can determine the fastest route to your destination, along with convenient stops for restaurants and mosques on the way.”
