Blackberry Key2 gets new red hue
Priced at Dh2,752, the new smartphone is powered by Android
Qwerty keyboard loyalists may be wooed by the latest version of the BlackBerry Key2 smartphone that comes in a red hue, but will soon notice that little else has changed in the model from Chinese manufacturer TCL.
BlackBerry Key2 Red Edition is powered by the Android operating system with security features unique to BlackBerry, such as being able to set up alerts when an app accesses a user's data. Same features were standard in the previous version of the Key2 as well.
A new standard addition is the recently introduced virtual Google Assistant, to help phone users manage calendar alerts, send a message or control Internet of Things-connected home devices such as security alarms or thermostats.
The Key2 also has a dual rear camera and packs a bigger punch than previous generations with its 6GB memory and 128GB storage.
BlackBerry Key2 Red Edition will be available worldwide starting at $749 (Dh2,752).
