Property developers with existing approvals from the Urban Planning Council (UPC) to build schemes in Abu Dhabi have until August to begin construction or see their consents expire.
The UPC yesterday issued a reminder to developers that new time limits for development approvals in the emirate, passed in August 2012, are set to run out this summer.
Under the new rules, consents for single buildings and multiple buildings with connected podiums run out within 24 months if construction has not started.
