A new Dh120 million facility which will combine Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen showrooms and workshops in Sharjah will open late next month.

The facility is part of Dh900m investment programme by the company, the first phase of which included building the world’s largest Audi showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road.

Work is now also underway on a new Dh144m Porsche showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road and within weeks construction will begin on one of the world’s largest Audi workshops in Dubai at a cost of Dh133m, and is due to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2014.

There are 10 projects in the investment programme, including a Dh256 million vehicle pre-delivery centre and paint and body shop in Jebel Ali, which is still pending final approvals, and a Dh85.5m facility combining Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen showrooms and workshop that is scheduled to open in Fujairah before the end of the year.

“To create such a wide range of new, world-class facilities for our brands is a major undertaking from a planning and construction point of view, but everything is coming together very nicely,” said K Rajaram, chief executive of Al Nabooda Automobiles, the sole distributor for Porsche, Audi and Volkswagen in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
