Abu Dhabi bourse drops as Etisalat goes ex-dividen

Markets Update" Shares decline on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange at the open as Etisalat goes ex-dividend.

Abu Dhabi's shares lost more than 1 per cent at the open as Etisalat went ex-dividend.

The largest telecommunications operator, paid out the interim cash dividend of 25 fils per share.

Etisalat declined 3.2 per cent lower to Dh10.30. The stock makes up 33 per cent of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange, which traded at 1.2 per cent lower to 2641.88 points.

Dubai's benchmark, the Dubai Financial Market General Index was unchanged at 1511.59 points. Shuaa Capital rose 5 per cent to Dh1 a share after the country's largest investment bank reported a second quarter profit of Dh626,000, from a loss of Dh56.6 million the same period a year earlier.

Elsewhere in the region, Kuwait and Bahrain's indexes were unchanged at 6087.20 points and 1299.86 points respectively. Oman's measure was little changed at 5947.38 points. Qatar's index was also little changed at 8400.89 points. The Saudi Tadawul All-Share Index was little changed at 6476.59 points.
