The UAE is arguably one of the best places in the world to own a boat and this week we take a peek inside the Dominator 68 S, a luxury Italian-made yacht that is the only one of its kind in the region.

The Dominator 68 S measures 21.3 metres, placing it somewhere in the middle of the abundance of jet skis, boats, yachts, superyachts and megayachts in local waters.

It has a cruising speed of 26 knots and a maximum speed of 30 knots.

Stepping on board the Dominator 68 S, you are met by a modern Italian-designed interior: full cream leather lounges and light wooden surroundings invite you towards an on-board kitchen (a galley, in nautical terms), complete with its own bar and double-glazed glass dining table with granite inlay.

Heading outside, the bow of the yacht is fitted with large sunpads for catching the weekend rays, and upstairs on the flybridge is where the yacht really comes into its own.

A large entertainment and dining area boasting a wet bar with barbecue, fridge and storage will keep a party going into the night.

The yacht holds an on-board jet boat with its own crane, available to take guests to and from the shore - the ultimate private party experience.

The 2007-built yacht will sleep six of your nearest and dearest in three cabins, each fitted with a flat-screen TV and impressive Bose surround sound systems. Full broadband internet and Wi-Fi throughout also means "liking" and tweeting is just as possible miles from land as it is from the shore.

The Dominator 68 S is available to purchase for a Dh6.8 million. But keep in mind that a yacht like this almost certainly needs a full-time captain, crew members, ongoing maintenance, fuel and somewhere to park, all of which can add up to an additional Dh350,000 per year.
