Reem Mall, the 2 million square feet retail space on Abu Dhabi’s Reem Island scheduled to open in 2018, has announced Landmark Group as a key tenant bringing 23 new stores.

The new mall will host some of Landmark Group’s most popular concepts, including Centrepoint, Home Centre, Max, Iconic, Sports One and Shoexpress. Landmark’s franchise brands such as New Look, Reiss and Adidas Kids among others will also be part of retail offering.

“Abu Dhabi’s impressive mall development offers great potential for retail growth,” said Manu Jeswani, director for Landmark Group.

He said its vibrant shopping combined with its arts and entertainment culture was a huge attraction for both residents and tourists, increasing the opportunity for the retail industry.

“Landmark Group is strategically expanding its presence in Abu Dhabi and our partnership with Reem Mall will enable us to bring our offering even closer to our customers.”

As a key tenant, Landmark Group will occupy a total retail area close to 200,000 sq ft within the mall.

Reem Mall, developed by NREC and UPAC, began construction last year. In addition to international and regional retail and restaurant brands, the mall will also house a range of entertainment options including the world’s largest indoor snow-play park.

It will open only months after Gulf Related completes its US$1 billion Al Maryah Central shopping mall on neighbouring Al Maryah Island.
