The country's first Arabic-language financial newspaper, Alrroya Aleqtisadiya, or Economy Vision, was launched in Abu Dhabi, including a web portal. The 32-page daily paper aims to examine breaking news, provide analysis and conduct executive interviews and investigative reporting from a UAE perspective. It will be distributed free seven days a week in colour, while its online portal, alrroya.com, will provide video, audio and additional stories.
The launch was celebrated at an event at the Emirates Palace on Sunday evening, which was attended by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, the Minister of Presidential Affairs, whose company, Imedia, publishes the paper. Imedia was established last August as an integrated media company. "This event is a manifestation of the vision and directives of Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed for founding Alrroya Aleqtisadiya as the first Arabic-language newspaper in the Emirates dedicated to business, financial and economic affairs from a UAE perspective," said Al-Yaziya al Kuwaiti, a board member, according to a report on the WAM news agency.
