Etihad is expanding its service to Texas with daily flights starting next year.

The Abu Dhabi carrier said it would add four flights a week to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport starting on February 2 next year, an increase from its current thrice-weekly schedule.

The plane on the route will still be a Boeing 777-200LR, which has eight first-class seats, 40 business-class seats and 191 economy seats.

The change will also add 96 tonnes of cargo capacity a week to the route.

Dallas/Fort Worth is one of six cities in the United States the carrier flies to. It added the destination fewer than two years ago.

“The increased frequency will provide greater convenience and more options to business and leisure travellers throughout the Texas region, and will also cater to the huge travel market from India and the subcontinent to and from our Dallas/Fort Worth gateway and beyond,” said Kevin Knight, Etihad’s group chief strategy and planning officer.

The Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area is the fourth-most populous in the US, and Dallas ranks as one of the most popular destinations for business travel, according to American Express.
