UAE defence companies to participate in Malaysian trade show
Tawazun Economic Council, UAE Armed Forces and Emirates Defense Companies Council to showcase products in April
Tawazun Economic Council, the Abu Dhabi institution leading the UAE’s economic diversification efforts, the Emirates defence Companies Council, which represents the UAE defence and security industry, and the UAE Armed Forces, will exhibit together at the 16th Defence Services Asia show in Kuala Lumpur this week.
“DSA 2018 represents an excellent opportunity for us to present our innovative and highly advanced defence and homeland security solutions to the world through the UAE Pavilion,” said Tareq Al Hosani, chief executive of Tawazun, said in a statement on Sunday.
The exhibition takes place in the Malaysian capital city from 16-19 April. UAE companies will use the pavilion to display their latest products across the defence and security industries, including military vehicles, aerospace, munition systems, naval vessels, telecommunications, maintenance and repair operations, cybersecurity, logistical support and technical development.
Since 2012, the UAE Pavilion has enabled defence and security companies based in the country to participate in more than 10 international events across Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
Other countries taking part in this year’s DSA event include the US, UK, France, China, Russia, Japan, Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Singapore, Pakistan and South Africa.
Tawazun manages the Tawazun Industrial Park (TIP) in Abu Dhabi, which is currently home to around 16 defence and aerospace manufacturing companies specialising in advanced precision industries. TIP has a dedicated zone for manufacturing, assembling and storage for defence-related products.
“As a prime enabler for a sustainable defence and security industry in the UAE, Tawazun Economic Council seeks to maximise economic benefit by [supporting] the industry’s development and driving necessary industry regulations,” Mr Al Hosani said.
