Emirates' new first class cabin, now featuring fully enclosed private suites, has been put into commercial use for the first time, the airline said.
The new cabins were first revealed at the Dubai Airshow last month for the Boeing 777-300ER now operating on the Dubai to Brussels route, which began flying on Saturday. When the flight landed, the Dubai-based carrier provided guided tours to its trade and airport partners, VIP guests and media.
Emirates is the world’s largest operator of Boeing 777 planes, with 166 of these wide-body aircrafts heading to six continents from its Dubai hub.
The airline has been driving its advertising with the help of big motoring name Jeremy Clarkson. The new suites were inspired by the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, featuring sliding doors to allow full privacy. Even middle row occupants can have a window via the virtual windows live streamed from cameras stations on the outside of the plane.
