American Hustle leads Producers Guild nominations
David O Russell's corruption tale American Hustle, Spike Jonze's digital romance Her and Steve McQueen's historic saga 12 Years a Slave are among the film nominees for the Producers Guild of America awards. Ten films were announced as contenders on Thursday, including the Woody Allen comedy Blue Jasmine, the Somali pirate thriller Captain Phillips, the Aids drama Dallas Buyers Club, the lost-in-space odyssey Gravity, the small-town comedy Nebraska, the making-of-Mary Poppins story Saving Mr. Banks and the stockbroker feature The Wolf of Wall Street. Prahlad Kakkar finalising script for Bachchans’ consideration
The Bollywood filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar says he's finishing the script of his forthcoming movie Happy Anniversary, which he will then send to Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for consideration. "We are working on it. We still have to present the script to both Ash and Abhishek, so that they can finally accept or not accept," said Kakkar. The director says he's considering shooting the romantic drama in South Africa. Car in Walker crash may have been going 160kph
The Porsche carrying the Fast & Furious star Paul Walker may have been going 160kph or more before it crashed, killing both Walker and the driver, according to a coroner's report released on Friday. Investigators found no mechanical problems with the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT or debris or other problems on the roadway. Roger Rodas, Walker's friend and financial adviser, was driving. No alcohol or drugs were detected in the system of either man on the day of the one-car crash. The November 30 deaths were ruled as accidents and were due to combined traumatic and thermal injuries, the report said. – AP
Ke$ha checks into rehab centre
Ke$ha has checked into rehab to treat an eating disorder. The American singer said in a statement that she'll be unavailable for the next 30 days while she seeks treatment for an undisclosed eating disorder. "I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I've found it hard to practice," she said. The 26-year-old vegetarian added that she wants to "learn to love myself again, exactly as I am". No other details were provided. – AP
