From A to B, Ali F Mostafa's UAE-produced road movie about three friends who set off to drive from Abu Dhabi to Beirut in honour of their late best friend, has been picked up for UK distribution following its successful January run in Middle Eastern cinemas.

The movie has been picked up by indie giant Studio Canal's British arm – the company has previously been the producer of hits including Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Bridget Jones' Diary, and the current Oscar nominee The Imitation Game.

The pan-European big hitter is also the owner of the world's third largest film library and is the rights owner of classics like Peeping Tom, The Wicker Man, Rambo and Highlander.

The deal was signed at the Berlin Film Festival and brokered by Highland Film Group, which owns the international distribution rights to the movie. From A to B was produced by Abu Dhabi's Image Nation, alongside partners twofour54 Abu Dhabi, Rotana, Mostafa's own AFM Films and creative producers Mohamed Hefzy and Paul Baboudjian.
