The capital’s live music season will get off to a sudden start thanks to a new monthly live music series showcasing the UAE’s top alternative acts.
Hosted at The Sportsman’s Arms in Zayed Sports City, acoustic troubadour Craig Perry will headline the opening gig on July 8, with follow-up events on the first Friday of every month. Backed by his band, expect to hear tracks from Perry’s recent debut LP Jigsaw Repeat.
The second event, on August 5, will feature Bridge Incident, the fresh pop-rock outfit fronted by longstanding UAE folkie Tim Hassall. The gig series runs from 8.30pm to 11pm, with free entry, and is entitled Rock Under the Stars – but we’re hoping for some AC at these early summer shows.
