A plot to shoot people at the screening of the new Twilight movie in Missouri was foiled when a mother told police that her son was off his medication and had bought assault weapons.
Following the tip-off, Blaec Lamme Lammers was arrested by police on Friday at a Sonic fast food restaurant in Bolivar, Missouri.
According to court records, Lammers initially claimed he had purchased the guns to go hunting. But he later admitted that he had bought the weapons "with the intention of shooting up the movie theatre" while Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2 was being shown last night.
"Blaec Lamme Lammers stated that he then got to thinking about it and realised that he might run out of ammunition, so he decided he would go and shoot people at Walmart," said detective Dustin Ross.
Lammers admitted to purchasing 400 rounds of ammunition and that if he ran out "he would just break the glass where the ammunition is being stored and get some more and keep on shooting until the police arrived".
He was charged with one count of making a terrorist threat, one count of assault and one count of armed criminal action. Lammers was previously arrested in 2009 after stating that he wanted to kill a Walmart employee.
The incident follows the murder of 12 people at the opening night of the Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, at Aurora, Colorado in July.
