The hit musical Chicago is coming to Dubai

The award-winning musical Chicago will be staged in Dubai for two weeks, starting this Thursday.
The touring cast of the 1920s-set show will bring Broadway glamour to theatre lovers at the Dubai World Trade Centre until January 3. The musical, originally choreographed by the legendary theatre actor, dancer and screenwriter Bob Fosse in 1975, ran for 600 performances. It was revived in 1996 with his signature style intact, but under the dance direction of Ann Reinking, who also played Roxie Hart, the lead character, in the initial shows.
A story of corruption, crime, exploitation and adultery, packed with vaudeville entertainment and jazz music, Chicago has won six Tony Awards and a Grammy. With more than 6,700 stage performances, it has become the longest-running American musical on Broadway.
