The nominations for the 2019 International Emmy Awards have been revealed and Netflix India's first original series is among the nominees.
Featured in the highly anticipated Drama Series award, Sacred Games (season 2) an original show created by Netflix India is up against Brazil's Contra Todos, Germany's Bad Banks and the UK's McMafia.
Indian filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwan who has been involved in the Netflix project since the inception of the show took to Twitter to share some love for the team involved in Sacred Games. The nomination means the web-series is recognised as one of the best television shows produced and initially aired outside the United States.
Bollywood favourite Anil Kapoor also congratulated Sacred Games' director Anurag Kashyap, and the entire cast of the show.

Best Actress Category
The Netflix original is not the only Indian creative to receive recognition by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for the 47th annual awards.
Indian actress Radhhika Apte is nominated in the best actress category for her role in anthology film Lust Stories.
She'll be competing against English actress Jenna Coleman from The Cry, Brazilian Marjorie Estiano for her role in Sob Pressão and Hungary's Marina Gera who stars in Orok Te. Anil Kapoor also gave the Lust Stories team a mention on Twitter.
In the non-scripted entertainment category The Remix — India from Amazon Prime is up for an award alongside Argentina's La Voz (The Voice), the UK's The Real Full Monty: Ladies Night and Belgium's Taboe (Taboo).
Diverse representation
Indian director and producer Karan Anshuman, creator of Inside Edge which was nominated at last year's International Emmy's, sent well-deserved congratulations to everyone featuring this year.

With 44 Nominees across 11 categories and 21 countries, there’s a huge geographical spread in this year’s nominees.
“The diversity, geographic spread and quality of this year’s Nominees is a testament to the increasing wealth of outstanding television being created on a global scale,” said Bruce L Paisner, President and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, in a statement.
Winners will be revealed at a ceremony in New York on Monday, November 25, 2019.
