Here’s when Stranger Things 3 will start on Netflix
The streaming platform has revealed when the new season of the popular science fiction-horror show will return
If you are one of those looking forward to the new year and like to plan ahead, Netflix has some good news. Fans of Stranger Things have a date now for the much-awaited third season as its been announced that the American science fiction-horror show will return on July 4.
The first poster and key art for the new season have been unveiled. It shows the characters Eleven and Mike holding hands while their friends Will, Lucas, Dustin and Max look up at fireworks with the caption "One Summer Can Change Everything." If things go as planned, it picks up around two years after the second season's episodes.
There's also a new teaser trailer in the form of an old Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve countdown style video:
Until now, there’s been little revealed about the coming series except that it will take place in 1985 and possibly in a mall. A few weeks ago, Netflix also released a teaser announcing the titles of all eight episodes for the coming season.
The title cards are: Suzie, Do You Copy?, The Mall Rats, The Case of the Missing Lifeguard, The Sauna Test, The Source, The Birthday, The Bite, and The Battle of Starcourt.
That teaser came out last July and was disguised as an advertisement for an Starcourt Mall coming to the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana (where Stranger Things takes place). The only link to the show was a brief shot at the end of Steve Harrington (played by Joe Keery), who is now working behind the counter of the ice cream stand Scoops Ahoy.
So the good news for fans is that a date has finally been announced for the new season. However, it is still seven months away. With all that time in between, we're sure Netflix will still be dropping hints on what may await in season 3.
