Abu Dhabi Media announces more than 60 new shows and programmes
Relaunch of ADTV, AD Sports and AD Radio also part of transformation strategy
Government-owned Abu Dhabi Media announced a new range of programmes across all its platforms as well as the relaunch of ADTV, AD Sports and AD Radio.
As part of an ongoing transformation, Abu Dhabi Media updated its brand websites, launched new digital platforms and has enabled Apple TV and Alexa smart speaker applications.
“The new ADM strategy was built in line with the directives of our leadership of advancing the performance of our national media; enhancing its unique role in preparing for the next 50 years and highlighting its responsibility towards enhancing cultural evolution,” said Dr Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of State and chairman of Abu Dhabi Media’s board of directors.
Content wise, Abu Dhabi TV unveiled more than 60 new shows and programmes. These include Repeat After Me, a comedy show hosted by Saudi influencer Tareq Al Harbi, and Tekk Gamers, an electronic gaming review show, hosted by Abdallah Al Ghamdi. There is also Eishha Sah, hosted by Dr Hassan Galadari, which addresses health and well-being.
Emirates TV also has new shows. These include Nuqta Ala Al Sater, hosted by Dr Sultan Al Nuaimi, a programme that addresses social topics in the UAE and daily variety magazine show Masakum Kheir. Podcast is hosted by Mohammad Al Juneibi. The show, which is in co-operation with AD Radio, highlights successful and inspiring young Emirati personalities who have made a positive mark locally and internationally.
There’s also documentary show Al-Khamsoon, which highlights the UAE’s progress and development.
Darbat Jaza’a will review football matches to which Abu Dhabi Sports has broadcast rights.
Abu Dhabi Sports Channel also announced 11 new programmes including Nahnu Hunna, which focuses on the achievements of people of determination. Back "by popular demand" is Abu Dhabi Al Yawm, which is hosted by Osama Al Amiri and focuses on UAE sporting topics.
Abu Dhabi’s exclusively digital platform Mohtawa will also launch five new shows including #Flash_back_Arabic that provides a comprehensive historical review of inventions used today. There’s also Mish Ajel, which focuses on political topics in a humorous way, Mohtawa News, which tackles the news in the digital world and Illa Ain, a programme that address local issues concerning Arab youth.
New programmes for Abu Dhabi Radio include Drayesh, Ala Fikra, and Ala Thaw’ak.
