The Egyptian pop star and actor is on the publicity trail for his new comedy drama project
Tamer Hosny meets fans at Dubai's Modhesh World
Fans of Egyptian pop star and actor Tamer Hosny have been treated to some quality time with the star in Dubai.
Hosny spent some time at Modhesh World at the Dubai World Trade Centre last Thursday, interacting with a select group of fans who had won a competition to meet him.
“The place is wonderful and has lots of fun and entertainment avenues,” says Hosny. “I have always noticed that kids are at their happiest when they play and have fun.”
Hosny used his Dubai appearance to promote his upcoming comedy drama Tisbah Ala Kheir (Good Night) that premiered in Egyptian cinemas on June 25.
The film's cast includes Durah, Nour and Ahmed Zaher. Hosny plays a character struggling to confront some hard truths about his life.
"I think it is a new kind of film for me and has a high level of acting – for example, I play a bunch of different personalities in the film," he said in a recent interview with The National. "There is also a philosophy to it and some humour, of course."
Tisbah Ala Kheir features a new song – Wara Al Shababeek (Behind the Windows) – a duet Hosny performs with Lebanese diva Elissa.
Hosny’s appearance at Modhesh World was part of the venue’s entertainment programme, which continues with live performances of Alice in Wonderland and The Adventures of Peter Pan, both are choreographed and interactive family shows featuring sound effects and light projections.
Performances are held every two hours from 5pm with the last show at 11pm daily.
Modhesh World open from 10am to midnight (Saturday to Wednesday) and 10am to 1am (Thursday and Friday). Go to www.mymodheshworld.com
