Jack Klugman, the prolific, craggy-faced character actor and regular guy who was loved by millions as the messy one in TV's The Odd Couple and the crime-fighting coroner in Quincy, M.E., died on Monday, a son said. He was 90. Klugman, who lost his voice to throat cancer in the 1980s and trained himself to speak again, died with his wife at his side. Celebrities shared their condolences on Twitter: "R.I.P. Jack Klugman, Oscar, Quincy a man whose career spanned almost 50 years. I first saw him on The Twilight Zone. Cool guy wonderful actor," tweeted Whoopi Goldberg. "You made my whole family laugh together," tweeted Jon Favreau, of Swingers and Iron Man. * AP

Carmen Electra admits to 'bad boys' attraction in youth

The actress Carmen Electra said she was attracted to "bad boys" when she was a teenager. Electra admits she always dated "macho" men when she first moved to Hollywood at the age of 18, and now feels "foolish" for believing guys had to be tough. "A lot of guys do not want to show they are vulnerable because they regard it as weakness," she said. Electra, 40, said she realises there is more to being a man than having a "good body" and an ego. * IANS

Rihanna stalked in Barbados

The singer Rihanna was said to be "disturbed" on Christmas Eve after an obsessed male fan got to within 12 feet of her at her holiday villa in her native Barbados. Rihanna, 24, was lounging by the pool when the apparent stalker was grabbed by security staff. He had calmly walked on to the balcony of the secluded home. A witness said: "He looked fairly harmless but it was a little too close for comfort." A day earlier, Rihanna had announced her decision to donate US$1.75 million (Dh6.43m) to a hospital in Barbados in memory of her grandmother, Clara Braithwaite, who died in June after a long battle with cancer. * The National staff

Midwest Christmas for Kutcher and Kunis

Just days after making it official and filing for divorce from Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher was spotted out with Mila Kunis on Saturday night in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The former That 70s Show co-stars were spending the holidays in Kutcher's hometown and sampling wares at a frozen yogurt shop.

Beckhams enjoying Maldives luxury

This Christmas season, the Beckhams are enjoying the luxury of the Maldives. They are reportedly staying at the Reethi Rah resort for 11 nights, and have spent £250,000 (Dh1.5m) on their holiday. The Beckhams' suite is the priciest available, costing £8,600 a night. But they have booked three more, each costing £3,700 a night. "It's the best resort in the Maldives and they are staying in the most expensive rooms," a source said. * IANS
