SRK to get radical makeover for new film

Shah Rukh Khan, who boasts millions of fans all over the world, has been signed to play the role of a diehard fan in the forthcoming Yash Raj Films movie Fan, directed by Maneesh Sharma. “We are attempting a never-seen-before look for Shah Rukh, which will be challenging for us and exciting for the viewer,” Sharma said. The Hollywood make-up artist Greg Cannom, who has won Oscars for his work in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), Mrs Doubtfire (1993) and Dracula (1992), will be leading the team. Filming begins in July. – The National staff

Rihanna to be honoured with fashion award

The Council of Fashion Designers of America announced on Monday that Rihanna will receive the CFDA Fashion Icon Award on June 2 in New York City. The award is given to a person whose style has had a tremendous effect on pop culture around the world. Past recipients include Lady Gaga, Iman, Kate Moss and Nicole Kidman. The 26-year-old pop star will launch a three-date co-headlining tour with Eminem on August 8 in Los Angeles. – AP
