Katrina Kaif, last seen in the 2013 action drama Dhoom 3, has bagged the lead role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the forthcoming film Raees, The Times of India reported. Raees will be their second film together, after the late Yash Chopra’s hit romance Jab Tak Hai Jaan in 2012. Kaif is currently filming Jagga Jasoos, which features Ranbir Kapoor in the title tole. Raees, produced by Excel Entertainment, is scheduled to be released during Eid 2015. – The National staff

Shakira has a new World Cup song

Shakira, who made the world dance to her song Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) at the 2010 Fifa World Cup, has recorded a new World Cup number. The star, who is dating the Spain defender Gerard Piqué, has written La La La, a reworked version of her new song Dare, for this summer’s tournament in Brazil. “It’s an upbeat, Brazilian track,” said the 37-year-old, whose 12-month-old son Milan also features on the track. – IANS

Fast & Furious 7 to use body doubles for Paul Walker’s role

Fans are up in arms over a report that Universal Pictures has decided to go with body doubles and CGI for the late Paul Walker’s role in the seventh instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise. The American actor died in a car crash last year. “They have hired four actors with bodies very similar to Paul’s physique and they will be used for movement and as a base,” said NY Daily News. “Paul’s face and voice will be used on top using CGI.” Production is set to restart soon, with the film crew and cast, including Vin Diesel, heading to Abu Dhabi next month to pick up the last six to eight weeks of filming. Fast and Furious 7 is due out on April 10 next year. – The National staff

Frozen reclaims throne on top of Billboard

The soundtrack of Disney’s hit Frozen reclaimed the top of the Billboard 200 album chart, climbing from third place last week. Frozen was only one of four soundtracks to have clocked six weeks or more on the Billboard 200 chart since SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991. The country singer Luke Bryan came in at No 2 with his new extended play album Spring Break 6 – Like We Ain’t Ever, while last week’s chart topper, Master Mind by the rapper Rick Ross, dropped to the third spot. – Reuters

Twin boys for Chris Hemsworth

Two more Hemsworths have arrived. Chris Hemsworth and his wife, Elsa Pataky, have welcomed not one, but two sons into the world. The twins of the 30-year-old Thor: The Dark World star and the 37-year-old Fast & Furious 6 actress were born in Los Angeles. Hemsworth’s publicist, Robin Baum, confirmed the births on Friday. The couple also have a 22-month-old daughter named India. – AP
