The actress Sonam Kapoor, who is busy shooting for her new film Raanjhana, says the project has revived her love for the industry. "Because of Raanjhana I rediscovered my passion for acting and my love for the human spirit," she tweeted earlier this week. Directed by Aanand Rai, the film co-stars the Tamil superstar Dhanush. Kapoor added that it was a delight to work with the film's team. "Last days of shooting this week. I'm so blessed to have worked with Aanand Rai and Dhanush. I don't want it to end," she posted. Raanjhana is scheduled to come out in the summer. Kapoor's next project is the biopic Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. - IANS
Sudhir Mishra ready for change of filming style
After making offbeat films such as Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Khoya Khoya Chand, the director Sudhir Mishra believes it's time to change things up. He says he will now try to make films that are more mainstream, "that speak the language of the audience". Mishra said: "My filmmaking is changing. I am trying to go towards the audience yet staying in my realm. I am picking up subject matters that people will like, that interest them and something they face in their lives." His latest film, Inkaar, deals with harassment at the workplace. Headlined by Arjun Rampal and Chitrangada Singh, it is scheduled for a January 18 release. Mishra says his next film is titled Mehrunissa, but did not provide details. - IANS
Vivek Agnihotri to take on political satire
After directing the romantic thriller Hate Story and the socio-political drama Freedom, the filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri announced his next project will be a political satire. "I'm currently busy shooting for Freedom, but soon after this I'm going try my hands at a comedy film. It is titled Awwal and it will be a political satire," said Agnihotri. "There will be many established stars in this film. It is going to be a huge project. It is a very expensive film, so I have to make the best out of it." Asked why he's decided to take on a satirical work, the Bollywood director replied: "I enjoy working on different genres. I don't want to repeat myself as a director. I want to explore myself with different films." - IANS
Karthik keen to direct Hindi remake of Pizza
Karthik Subbaraj, who directed the blockbuster Tamil horror-thriller Pizza in October, says he would love to direct the Hindi remake of the film if he's granted the opportunity. "I am very much interested in directing the Hindi remake of my film. I haven't got any confirmation yet, but the talks are on about who is likely to direct the film. I would be more than happy to wield the megaphone if given the opportunity," Subbaraj said. The producer/director Bejoy Nambiar has bought the Hindi remake rights of the film and will produce it under his home banner Getaway Films. Starring Vijay Sethupathi and Remya Nambeesan, Pizza tells the story of a delivery boy who lands in a mysterious circumstance during one night of home deliveries. It was dubbed in Telugu and will also be soon be remade in Kannada. Meanwhile, Subbaraj says he is finishing the screenplay for his next Tamil film, an action-drama. "We have yet to zero in on the cast but we hope to start shooting by March," he said. - IANS
