Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha has no aspirations to be a part of movie projects in Hollywood.

The 29-year-old actress, who performed at the International Indian Film Awards (IIFA) last weekend, said she is content with being a part of the Bollywood film industry.

“No aspirations to move to the West. None whatsoever,” she said at a press meet during the IIFA weekend in Madrid, Spain. “I’m very very happy in my own space and in my own Indian film industry.”

The actress is also on the fitness track thanks to the gruelling schedule she had on her upcoming film Akira.

She said her role of a misunderstood woman in the movie by filmmaker AR Murugadoss pushed her physically and mentally.

“It was a very demanding role but I’m glad I was able to be a part of a film that pushed me in so many different ways,” said the actress during the IIFA weekend in Madrid, Spain.

“It taught me a lot and that was the best part, learning something new for the film.”

The action movie is a remake of the 2011 Tamil film Mounaguru. The movie – about a girl who takes matters into her hand after she is wronged – also stars Konkona Sen Sharma, Anurag Kashyap and her father, veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha.

“It tackles a lot of grave issues that women and girls go through today,” says Sinha. “It’s about a girl who gets pushed into a corner and she fights back.”
