Arbaaz: Malaika is my sounding board

The actor-turned-director Arbaaz Khan described his wife, the producer Malaika Arora Khan, as his “sounding board” while filming his latest movie Dabangg 2. “From the subject of the film to finalising the actors to where I will be shooting – I discuss everything with her,” he said in an interview. “I wouldn’t say she’s creatively involved in the films, because that’s not her job and that is not what I want her to do. But because she is my wife and not just a producer, I talk to her about everything and she listens and helps out whenever she can.” Dabangg 2, which is headlined by Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Prakash Raj, is an action film and will be released in cinemas across the UAE tomorrow. – IANS

Pariva Pranati to continue TV career

The actress Pariva Pranati says she has no plans to leave television for the sake of a Bollywood career. “In television I have done different types of shows and roles. TV offers me something different and I plan to continue doing it,” she said in an interview. The actress co-stars with Aamir Khan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor in the new thriller Talaash. On the small screen, she recently appeared in the Star Plus drama series Ek Doosre Se Karte Hain Pyaar Hum, which concluded its run last month. “I played the role of a wife who loses her husband – because of that my scenes demanded that I cry a lot. Television actors have to keep long hours and several intense scenes are shot in a single day, but I enjoy what I do and plan to continue doing it for a long time.” – IANS
