Rihanna launched her first clothing line with the British high-street retailer River Island on Saturday, adding A-list glitz to London Fashion Week. Denim tops teamed with slouchy jeans and monochrome dresses mirrored the Barbados-born singer's dressed-down style. "This has been something I wanted to do ever since I started loving fashion. I just felt like every time I saw something on a rack there was something I would want to do to change it," she said, saying the line is "for young women with sassy personalities". - Reuters / AFP

Whitaker slams theft accusation

Forest Whitaker told TMZ he was wrongly accused of shoplifting on Friday and was frisked in public "in a humiliating violation of rights". Whitaker was on his way out of the New York deli Milano Market when he was stopped by an employee and accused of shoplifting but no unpaid item was found. The actor's representative told TMZ: "Forest did not call the authorities at the request of the worker who was in fear of losing his employment." - IANS

Hugh Grant becomes father

Hugh Grant has become a father for the second time. The actor used his Twitter account to announce on Saturday: "Am thrilled my daughter now has a brother. Adore them both to an uncool degree." He said both children "have a fab mum" and: "To be crystal clear, I am the Daddy." Grant's girlfriend Tinglan Hong gave birth to a daughter in 2011. Grant has said that they were harassed by paparazzi when their daughter was born. - AP

Sarah Michelle Gellar pairs with Robin Williams

Sarah Michelle Gellar has been cast by 20th Century Fox for a new comedy series starring opposite Robin Williams. The show, titled Crazy Ones, is being written and produced by the Ally McBeal creator David E Kelley and is set in the world of advertising. Williams plays the head of an ad agency, working alongside his daughter (Gellar). The actress was earlier reported to be attached to another comedy for 20th Century Fox but the project has been cancelled. - IANS

Rupert Grint joins superhero comedy

The Harry Potter star Rupert Grint is headed to television. He will headline the CBS series Super Clyde, a comedy about "a meek, unassuming fast-food worker who decides to become a superhero", according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show is created by Greg Garcia, the showrunner of My Name is Earl and Raising Hope. Super Clyde marks Grint's first series-regular TV role. - IANS
