After the successful inaugural Middle East Film & Comic Con in April, video game and comic book fans have another event to look forward to.

GameFest is back at The Living Rooms Cafe at Dubai Festival City tomorrow. Aiming to bring together gamers from around the UAE to participate in various tournaments and check out the latest offerings from the games industry, the event promises to be bigger than last year's.

"GameFest is the place to be if you're a gamer," says Nick Rego, the senior editor at IGN Middle East, which organises GameFest. "Each time we've held it, there has been a great turnout of gamers eager to check out the latest games and take part in tournaments.

"There aren't too many gaming-related events that happen in the region, so we always look forward to hosting GameFest. We have competitions that let gamers showcase their skills, game previews, and also a cosplay competition [for best costume] that brings some very talented cosplayers.

"The other great thing about GameFest is that we also see a lot of people attending who aren't hard-core gamers, and they still have a lot of fun with the games on display."

Gamers will have the chance to try out new games that have not yet been released, participate in tournaments on both consoles and PC, and try out the latest gaming gear.

Planned tournaments include Fifa 12 PS3, Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Counter-Strike and Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm. At 5pm, registration will begin for the cosplay contest, with judging from 6pm.
