If you've not stopped by Al Habtoor City for a glimpse inside the magical world of La Perle yet, National Day may just be the time to do it.

The latest feather in Franco Dragone's cap, the indomitable La Perle by Dragone, is offering a 46 per cent discount on tickets for shows over the National Day weekend.

The offer applies to any of the twice-nightly shows from November 30 to December 3.

This means bronze tickets (usually Dh400) will only cost you Dh216, silver tickets (usually Dh600) will cost Dh324, and gold tickets will cost Dh432 (usually Dh800).

La Perle opened on August 31, and is homed in a state-of-the-art 1300-seat venue nestled between The W and Westin hotels in Dubai’s Al Habtoor City.

Performances run throughout the year, from Tuesday to Friday, 7pm and 9.30pm; Saturday, 4pm and 7pm.

However, it's not your average show - or venue.

Without 90-degree angles, the theatre experience is all-enveloping, with the undulating bronze-coloured edifice protruding over the stage, doubling as somewhat of a makeshift projector screen.

The central tank of water - around which the stage is constructed - holds several million litres of water, which is a key theme of the show. Water pours from the sides of the stage, the roof, and the stage floor floods (and dries) at the blink of an eye.

But just because the backdrop is enough to fixate on for the entirety of the 90-minute show, doesn't mean Dragone has scrimped on his cast.

Between the nimble acrobat racing around a swiftly rotating pendulum (without a hint of a harness or safety equipment), five motorbikes narrowly avoiding each other as they race around a tiny, circular mesh cage, and what can only be described as Olympic-grade diving from daring heights - La Perle is a spectacle in every sense of the word.

“La Perle incorporates many elements of local heritage and culture, which is why we are delighted to announce this limited special offer of 46 per cent discount to celebrate the UAE’s 46th National Day," Mohammed Al Habtoor, Al Habtoor Group's vice chairman & chief executive said.

"It is an important date in our history which marks the union of the seven Emirates.”
