K-pop in Jordan: Fans of Korean culture flock to Amman festival – in pictures
The K-Pop World Festival featured plenty of live performances
Jordanian K-pop fans flocked to the K-Pop World Festival in Amman this weekend. The preliminary festival was a celebration of Korean art and culture in the Jordanian capital, with live dance and music performances.
The festival is an annual event organised by the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and after passing the preliminary stage, contestants are invited to the finals of the competition held every year in Changwon, South Korea.

According to the organisers, the festival aims to "bring the Hallyu from all over the world to South Korea to focus Korea's culture with different cultures from all over the world".
The Hallyu is a term used to describe the Korean Wave, the increasing global popularity of South Korean art and culture.
