Brad Pitt's big-budget Netflix movie is set to shoot in Abu Dhabi in September. Based on The Operators: The Wild And Terrifying Inside Story Of America's War In Afghanistan, by the late author Michael Hastings, the satire War Machine stars Pitt as 4-star American general.

Abu Dhabi will stand in for the Afghanistan desert, and possibly a bit of Iraq too.

Our sources from very close to the production tell us that with Star Trek Beyond, Dhishoom and War Machine all shooting in the UAE in September there will most likely be extras spots to fill.

Films do seem to be coming in thick and fast at the moment, in no small part thanks to Abu Dhabi’s 30 per cent rebate for cinema productions in the emirate, in addition to the growing reputation of the country with international filmmakers in need of a safe, scenic desert landscape.
