The Kiwi singer Neil Finn will make his Middle East debut at the Dubai Tennis Stadium on May 15. Finn will perform selections from his new solo album Dizzy Heights as well as hits from his present band, Crowded House, and former New Wave outfit Split Enz. Paltrow and Martin announce separation

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin are separating after more than a decade of marriage, according to a message posted on Paltrow’s website on Tuesday. Paltrow, 41, and Coldplay’s frontman Martin, 37, were married in 2003. The actress and the musician have two children: daughter Apple, 9; and son Moses, 7. “We have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate,” read the message titled Conscious Uncoupling on Goop.com. It was signed by both Paltrow and ­Martin. – AP

Actress Nanda dies at 72

The Bollywood actress Nanda died on Tuesday morning of cardiac arrest in her Mumbai residence. She was 72. Nanda starred in more than 65 films over four decades. She is survived by two brothers. – IANS

Aguilera concert cancelled over Malaysia plane crash

A concert to mark Malaysia’s Formula One Grand Prix weekend, which was to feature Christina Aguilera, has been cancelled due to the Malaysia Airlines jet crash. The state oil company Petronas, which sponsors the Mercedes F1 team and the concert, said it called off the show as “a sign of respect to the families and next-of-kin of the crew and passengers of flight MH370”. – AFP
