Eman Al Falamerzi has been fashion-obsessed since she was a young girl.

Now that she’s a mother herself, she’s also an accomplished designer and businesswoman who helps set the fashion agenda for women in the UAE.

“I was interested in fashion from a very young age. I have always been interested in putting different clothing and accessories together,” she says, adding that playing dress-up with her sisters and cousins is one of her favourite childhood memories.

“Eventually, as my interest grew with age, I became even more fascinated by the art of fashion and would often educate myself about different aspects of designing.”

This led to Al Falamerzi and her sister Elham starting a business - E&E Women’s Fashion. They opened their first store in Dubai’s Wafi Mall four months ago.

“Our target market is chic and elegant women with a taste for progressive fashion. For me, fashion is a science of one’s appearance. As a designer, the most important thing to me is the cut and balance of a design.”

Al Falamerzi is humbled by her successes and takes pride in being at the top of her game. “I am recognised for my ability to shape trends. It is extremely rewarding to receive appreciation when people in the country recognise my flair for creativity,” she says.

Now she’s focused on giving back to the community and helping other aspiring designers taste success.

“I stand to motivate and encourage Gulf women to achieve success and express their talents in unique exhibitions,” she says.

Al Falamerzi does this via involvement with fashion events such as Al Reem Bazaar, held recently at Wafi Mall.

“It is a promising platform that opens doors to exceptional designers in the region. These opportunities encourage designers to showcase their perception of fashion,” she says.

Al Falermerzi says the piece of advice that has stuck with her over the years is pretty simple: “Never give up on something you want to do with all your passion and heart – you should do what you love and love what you do.”
