Trance DJ Ferry Corsten says UAE is the Middle East leader for dance music
Ferry Corsten has praised the UAE’s dance music community for its passion and progressive nature.
The veteran Dutch DJ made the comments before his December 6 appearance at Dubai’s Zero Gravity.
With a near three-decade recording and touring career, the 45-year-old Corsten has seen the UAE emerge to take its place as one of the globe’s most important dance music destinations in terms of its large scale events and state of the art clubs.
His Dubai show, which will have him deliver classic trance music anthems such as Out of the Blue and Walhalla, should further cement his reputation as a UAE fan favourite. Corsten has been performing in the UAE for more than a decade in various venues ranging from the Madinat Arena in 2009 to Creamfields Abu Dhabi three years ago.
“The UAE, and particularly Dubai, is viewed as the leading city in the region. The idea goes that if you want to cover the Middle East then you go over there, so it is very important when it comes to touring,” he says.
“It is also a fresh market and people are open minded enough to listen to different styles, which when you are performing, is really what you want.”
