K-pop group Blackpink have set a new record, as their music video just clocked in 100 million views on YouTube faster than any other that's come before it.

The video for ‘Kill This Love’ premiered at midnight on Friday, and reached the 100-million mark by 2pm on Sunday – two days and 14 hours after being released. The video has taken over the record previously held by fellow K-pop singer Psy, for his ‘Gentleman’ video.

YG Entertainment, Blackpink's management company, said the video reached 10 million views within four hours and 13 minutes, and within 24 hours it had earned 56.7 million views, surpassing Ariana Grande's 'Thank U, Next', which had more 56.4 million views within 24 hours of its release back in November.

They’ve certainly worked hard for the views: the big-budget video for ‘Kill This Love’ features giant swans, a room made of trumpets, a cereal shop being destroyed and the band performing inside a giant bear trap.

Blackpink is the highest-charting female K-pop group on the Billboard Social 50, and is made up of four members: Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa.

Their song Ddu-Du Ddu-Du became the most-viewed music video by a K-pop group on YouTube following its release in January.

Next week, Blackpink will become the first female K-pop band to perform at Coachella.
