After taking a back seat at last year’s Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix, the glitzy after race party, The Podium Lounge, will return to the capital for the tenth anniversary of the big race.

Speaking exclusively to The National from the track side of the Singapore F1, the event's founder Robbie Hoyes-Cock stated that The Podium Lounge will return to Abu Dhabi after a one-year break and will team up with fellow after-race party The Rich List for three nights at Yas Hotel beginning from November 23.

In addition to a musical headliner for each night, Hoyes-Cock said the event will now boast a fashion show curated by M the Movement.

Based in Los Angeles and run by designer Simplicio “M” Herrera (who was born in Manilla to a Chinese- Spanish father and a Spanish-Filipina mother), the exhibition at the Abu Dhabi F1 will hold a specific theme and will run under the title "Podium Lounge Fashion Circuit Presents".

Hoyes-Cock said the fashion show would feature a range of celebrities, some of whom may even strut down the catwalk themselves.

“M’s shows are simply incredible, and we are working with him here as part of our own Podium Lounge event at the Singapore F1 which are packed with celebrities,” he said.

“When it comes to our event here, we have Maureen Wroblewitz, who was last year's winner of Asia's Next Top Model and Taboo from Black Eyed Peas on the catwalk. So when it comes to the Abu Dhabi event, there will definitely be celebrities coming both internationally and regionally, and we are working on that. Some could be walking the fashion runway, while others will be enjoying the party because where we are located, it is really just the best views of the whole race.”

When it comes to the musical entertainment, Hoyes-Cock said that it was too early to make any announcements and that the news will be revealed within the next two months.

However, with The Rich List renowned for bringing big-name hip-hop artists to the Abu Dhabi F1 – last year’s headliners included rappers Busta Rhymes and Rick Ross – clubbers should expect further live performances in that vein.

When it comes to The Podium Lounge's Singapore F1 after parties, a more diverse line up is on offer with Boyzlife (featuring Boyzone's Keith Duffy and West Life's Brian McFadden) performing on Friday night, while Friday and Saturday will feature a DJ set from Good Charlotte's Joel Madden and live set by Taboo from The Black Eyed Peas respectively.

Stay tuned to Arts and Culture for all the latest music action from the Singapore F1.
