Taylor Swift hints she's dropping new music with countdown clock
The pop star has peppered clues on her social media, suggesting something is coming this April 26
Swifties, assemble. The global fan base of pop star Taylor Swift is celebrating rumours that the singer is set to release a new album this month, after the Shake it Off hitmaker dropped a cryptic hint.
The 29-year-old Grammy winner has updated her website to feature a pastel-pink countdown clock this weekend, which currently is timing down for the next 12 days.
The songstress also updated her social media accounts to make her biographies read "4.26", leading to speculation that she will release new material on April 26.
Swift's countdown first started at 13 days - the star's famously lucky number - though she has not yet confirmed what might happen when the clock hits 0.00.
The musician's latest album, the triple-platinum Reputation, came in November 2017, and marked her last release under her 12-year contract with Big Machine Records.
Her seventh album, whenever it should land, will be her first unveiled under her new contract with Universal Music Group's Republic Records.
While Swift hasn't yet confirmed when new music might land, she addressed the rumours of an imminent release at last month's iHeart Radio Music Awards.
"I love your passion. I love your attention to detail," she told fans in her acceptance speech for the Your of the Year award. "I love how much you care. When there's new music, you'll be the first to know."
