Fans with a taste for more intimate concert performances now have an alternative option to the Formula One headliners.
The line-up for late-night performances that will coincide with three days of F1 racing was announced on Sunday.
The international female singers Gabrielle and Corinne Bailey Rae and the band Sugababes will play on three successive nights at the Longitude Bar in the Yas Hotel on Yas Island.
Gabrielle, a London-born soul singer, will play on November 12, while the Sugababes will play on November 13. The British-born songstress and guitarist Corinne Bailey Rae will conclude the series on November 14.
The events are being billed as "exclusive" and "intimate" evenings as only 250 tickets will be available each night and audience members will be close to the stars.
The tickets go on sale today, and cost Dh800 for general admission. VIP tables for six people cost Dh7,500. The acoustic performances start every night at 11 pm.
John Lickrish, the managing director of Flash Entertainment, which is organising the event, said the aim was to add "diversity" to an already broad F1 programme.
Concert-goers do not have to be Grand Prix ticket holders. People enjoying the free Yasalam 2010 concerts can buy tickets to the events.

The announcement follows one made late last month announcing the headline acts for the F1 concerts, which will star the pop legend Prince, the rapper Kanye West and the rockers Linkin Park.
