Steps brings '90s pop to Dubai Opera for the first time

The one-night only event will feature the British group, who have just finished their UK comeback tour

Steps, the UK five-member group of late 90s fame, will perform for a live audience at Dubai Opera this spring.

Tickets will go on sale at 3pm on Sunday for the concert, which is scheduled for April 27.

“Steps are one of the great British pop bands of the last 20 years and having just finished an incredible run of sold-out arena dates in the UK are more popular than ever to both their original fans and to a new generation,” said Jasper Hope, chief executive of Dubai Opera.

Steps have sold 20 million records, climbing to fame in 1997 with their 5, 6, 7, 8 debut single spending 18 weeks on the charts in 1997.

“I’m so excited my pop group Steps are coming out to Dubai to perform at the spectacular Dubai Opera and I look forward to showing them our beautiful city,” said group member Lisa Scott-Lee, who has been living in Dubai for seven years, said . “We are thrilled to celebrate twenty years of Steps with our UAE fans!”

In addition to performing 5, 6, 7, 8, the group will also perform Deeper Shade of Blue, as well as new songs from their latest album. Tickets start from Dh275 with an early bird discount of Dh100 for golden circle, regular standing and gold seating. This promotion will end on December 31 at 5pm.
