President West? Apparently that’s one aspiration that rapper Kanye West still hasn’t let go of.

During a radio interview with Power 92 Chicago, West was asked: “Are you seriously considering the presidency?” The 41-year-old takes a moment before responding: “Yes, it 100 per cent could happen. 2024.” Pressed further on it, West said: “If I decide to do it, it will be done. I’m not going to try.”

Back in 2015, he announced at the VMAs that he would run for US president in 2020. "I will die for the art, for what I believe in and I ain't always gonna be polite," he said.

But it looks as though those plans have been pushed back as to not contend against current US President Donald Trump if he runs for re-election. West has praised Mr Trump, tweeting about how "the mob can't make me not love him":

And also showed off his signed hat:

The rapper is married to reality TV star Kim Kardashian, who was a vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.

Whether or not there will be a presidential run remains to be seen. However, just like back in 2015, this is sure to get people talking.
