New music is on the way from Nancy Ajram.
The Lebanese pop-star and Arab Idol judge confirmed she has already begun working on her ninth album with a release date to be confirmed.
Speaking to the Abu Dhabi based Arabic newspaper Al Roya , Ajram said she was in the studio recently to record a bunch of the new materials.
The move comes after the Akhasmak Ah singer released the song, Lya in January, which is named after her new-born daughter.
Like her previous big selling albums, Ajram fans should expect a variety of Arabic pop styles.
“There will be eight or nine songs and we began the production work but I haven’t yet decided on a date to release the project. I am currently just studying all the options we have,” she said.
“The album will have a mix of songs sung in the Lebanese, Egyptian and Khaleeji dialect. There are also songs with lyrics by Ahmed Mady and composed by Ziyad Barji.”
Ajram also went on to discuss her numerous shows in the UAE, the last being a well-attended Eid concert at the Dubai World Trade Centre on August 15.
“The city astonishes me with its pace and advancement,” she said. “It is one of the reasons why I enjoy playing shows there in various venues there. There are a lot of places in Dubai that are close to my heart.”
