Moneykicks is making music: UAE teen star Rashed Belhasa releases his first single – and it's all about Dubai
The 17-year-old has teamed up with American rapper Fat Joe on his debut track
He's known for his love of expensive sneakers and his home-grown menagerie that attracts the likes of Mariah Carey and Cristiano Ronaldo, but Rashed Belhasa has his eye on another claim to fame.
This time, the Dubai influencer wants to conquer the music industry, this month releasing his debut track, We Living Life.
As expected from an entrepreneur that's hung out with everyone from DJ Khaled to Paris Hilton, Belhasa – known by his Instagram handle Moneykicks – has roped in some famous friends for the single.
The Emirati teen, who rose to fame with a sports shoe collection that went viral on social media, collaborated with American rapper Fat Joe, among others, on the track that debuted on Thursday, August 15.
We Living Life, which is available on regional music streaming platform Anghami, also features touches from US rapper Desiigner, producer S1, Saudi content creator Dyler and Indian rapper Raftaar.
The song is an homage to life in the UAE, featuring lines such as: "We living life, life in Dubai."
A verse from Fat Joe gives a nod to "racing on Sheikh Zayed Road", while there are also mentions of nightlife hotspots White and Base, as well as a verse delivered in Arabic.
"Always believe in yourself! We have been working hard to make this happen," Belhasa told his 1.6 million Instagram followers as he announced the news. "We are making history and I can’t do this without y’all."
According to multiple reports, proceeds from the single will be donated to Dubai-based charities. The four-minute-long We Living Life has already been played more than 120,000 times on Anghami.
Belhasa, who co-owns clothing brand KingPin, also paid tribute to Fat Joe, telling his fans the rapper was "thankful" for his input.
"Here is a man who is the definition of a real brother, definition of loyalty, definition of mogul and my mentor," he captioned an image of the two. "The love I have for you, my brother, goes beyond words ... I would take a bullet for you. I appreciate everything you have taught and done for me."
