The Lebanese singer Maya Diab will be the guest performer at Ragheb Alama’s Abu Dhabi concert on Friday, February 28, in Zayed Sports City. Alama and Diab will also be seen at the capital’s World Trade Center Mall at 6.30pm on Thursday, February 27, to meet fans. Rowling to publish new novel
J K Rowling will publish her second crime novel on June 19, under the pen name of Robert Galbraith. The Silkworm is a follow-up to The Cuckoo’s Calling, which Rowling wrote using the pseudonym. The first book was published in April last year, to critical acclaim. Sales were low, but when Rowling was outed by a newspaper in July, they rose an astonishing 41,000 per cent in a week. – AFP
Amitabh and Irrfan to co-star
Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan will star in Shoojit Sircar’s new film, Piku. Khan, 47, says he’s looking forward to working with the superstar Bachchan for the first time. “I have signed the deal to work in Shoojit’s Piku. Amitabhji is in it. We will soon begin the shoot,” said Khan, who will next be seen in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Bichde Sabhi Baari Baari, co-starring Manoj Bajpayee. – The National staff
