After weeks of speculation, it's been confirmed that Marshmello will be heading to Saudi Arabia to play at the Jeddah Season cultural festival.

The American DJ and producer, known for his distinctive marshmallow-shaped headpiece, will be playing at the coastal city's festival on July 10, organisers have confirmed in an Instagram post.

"You loved him, we loved him and yes! He's here," the announcement reads.

Marshmello is known for hits Happier, Alone and Here With Me, and is set to play the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Basketball Arena at Jeddah's King Abdullah Sport City. Tickets to the event qualify attendees to apply for the Sharek International Events Visa.

This won't be Marshmello's first gig in the region. He headlined Dubai's RedFestDXB 2018, in February last year, a gig that "had the crowd leaping in the air from the moment he arrived on stage".

The announcement that Marshmello is coming to the region follows news that US boy band The Backstreet Boys will be playing the same venue on June 27, as well as an EDM double bill of Dutch DJ Afrojack and Morocco’s Rehab on July 8, and an Arab pop concert on June 29 featuring Saudi singer Rabeh Saqer and Syrian star Assala.
