The former Oasis member, now the front man for the band Beady Eye, is scheduled to perform with his band at the Flash Forum on September 16.
Liam Gallagher to perform in Abu Dhabi
Liam Gallagher, along with his band Beady Eye, will be heading to Abu Dhabi on September 16 for a performance at the Flash Forum.
Formed after Noel and Liam Gallagher's acrimonious split in 2009, Beady Eye took up the reins where Oasis left off, taking on board former bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock and leaving Noel to go it alone.
Compared to a Sgt Peppers-era Beatles with splashes of The Stone Roses, the band released their debut album - Different Gear, Still Standing - in February this year, hitting the third spot in the UK charts. The singles The Roller, Millionaire and The Beat Goes On didn't fare so well, with only one of them scraping into the Top 40.
But despite Beady Eye having yet to live up to the chart standards set by his former band, Liam hasn't kept silent. He accused his brother - who recently unveiled the first results from his new solo project - of lifting material from Oasis's studio sessions for their last album Dig Out Your Soul. "I've heard his new album cause I sung on half of it," he told Uncut magazine in January.
Beady Eye's performance in Abu Dhabi might not include any Oasis songs (Liam has said on numerous times that this won't happen), but it'll be a chance to witness one of the foremost rock frontmen in action. And you can expect at least one performance of Blue Moon, the Manchester City theme tune.
