April 11 1994
Oasis release their debut single, Supersonic, which peaks at 31 in the UK singles chart before reaching number 11 on the US Billboard Modern Rock tracks chart.
Oasis release their first album, Definitely Maybe, through Creation Records. The record went straight to pole position in the UK album charts. The fastest selling debut album of all time in the UK when it was released, Definitely Maybe went on to be certified as a 7× Platinum (2.1 million+) sales.

Oasis get their first chart No 1 with the single, Some Might Say
Oasis and Blur go head-to-head in the Battle of Britpop incident as the bands release their singles, Roll with It and Country House on the same day. Blur won, selling 274,000 copies of Country House in comparison to Oasis' 216,000 as the songs charted at number 1 and number 2 in the UK singles chart.
Oasis release their second album, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? The album sold a record-breaking 347,000 copies in its first week on sale, spent 10 weeks in pole position in the UK albums chart and reached number 4 in the US Billboard 200 chart. In 2016, it was ranked as the UK's fifth best-selling album of all time thanks to more than 4.7 million sales.
Oasis perform two record-breaking nights at Knebworth in front of a quarter of a million people. One in 20 Britons apply for tickets and Oasis are lauded as the most popular British band since The Beatles.
