Liam Gallagher is headlining this year’s Club Social music festival.

The former Oasis frontman, turned successful solo artist, will lead a Brit-pop friendly line-up that includes the Kaiser Chiefs and Clean Bandit.

The festival will take place over three nights at the Yas Links Golf Club in Yas Island, from Thursday, March 12 to Saturday, March 14. Tickets for the festival begin from Dh145 from www.ticketmaster.ae.

Gallagher will headline the first night in what would be his debut solo performance in the capital. The 47-year-old will likely treat the crowd with selections from his two solo albums, last year's Why Me? Why Not? and 2017's As You Were.

Both releases are home to a number of hits that include Wall of Glass, China Town and most recently Shock Wave. These tracks will form part of set list that includes Oasis favourites such as Supersonic, Live Forever and Wonderwall.

Judging by what The National saw of Gallagher at the 2018 Singapore F1, fans are in for a treat. In our review, we remarked that Gallagher was an electrifying presence with his voice in rude in health.

The following night, Friday, March 13, will see UK rockers Kaiser Chiefs take the stage with their own fistful of anthems including I Predict a Riot, Every Day I Love You Less and Less and Ruby. These festival stompers will join new tracks from their latest album Duck.

Joining them that night is Clean Bandits. The UK group are no strangers to the UAE, having rocked multiple festivals in Abu Dhabi and Dubai with a catalogue of hits that include Rockabye, Symphony and Rather Be.

The final day of the festival, Saturday March 14, will be dedicated to local bands as they battle it out as part of the Club Social’s Indie Band Challenge.

In addition to the evening musical offerings, the event will host a family friendly afternoon programme that includes entertainment, DJs, children’s workshops and activities.

Club Social is being held as part of the greater Abu Dhabi Music Week of events, which also includes the mega dance music gathering Ultra Music Festival on Thursday, March 5 and Friday March 6.
