KT Tunstall is heading to the UAE for a couple of weekend gigs.

The Scottish singer-songwriter will play an intimate run of Abu Dhabi and Dubai shows this Friday and Saturday at the InterContinental Abu Dhabi and the Habtoor Grand Resort, respectively.

Joined by touring guitarist Ryan Keen (who performed alongside Ed Sheeran before the singer went fully solo), Tunstall will perform acoustic versions of her favourite songs including the hits Suddenly I See, Black Horse and the Cherry Tree and Other Side of the World.

The 42-year-old will also play new tracks from last year's EP Golden State. As well as the single Evil Eye, the four-track collection also contains All Or Nothing which was unlikely hit in France after it was originally written for the French drama Sam starring Mathilde Seigner.

Tunstall’s UAE shows are part of a mini-regional tour which also has a date in Muscat on Wednesday and visits to local schools in the sultanate.

Born in Scotland and now based in Los Angeles, Tunstall arrived on the music scene with her fierce 2004 debut album Eye to the Telescope on which the hit Suddenly I See won her the UK's prestigious Ivor Novello Award for in 2006 for Best Song Musically and Lyrically.

KT Tunstall plays the Habtoor Grand Resort, Dubai, on Thursday at 7pm, and the InterContinental Abu Dhabi on Friday at 7pm. Tickets start from Dh200 from www.platinumlist.net
