Katy Perry fans in India and beyond will be delighted to hear that the Dark Horse singer is heading back to the country. Perry will be performing in Mumbai for the first time later this year, headlining the OnePlus Music Festival.

The festival is set to take place on Saturday, November 16 at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai, and promises to be a "celebration of music and community".

Perry seems to be the first artist on the festival's line-up, although Dua Lipa is also rumoured to be on the bill and more names are set to be announced soon. The company has told fans to expect a “multi-genre musical extravaganza”. It is not yet clear if this will be a one-off festival or an ongoing event, but fans can register in advance for tickets now here.

Flying to India from the UAE

For Katy Perry fans in the Emirates, a quick three-hour flight to the Indian city may not be out of the question.

To be in town for Saturday, November 16, tickets from Abu Dhabi on Etihad start at Dh993, or you can travel IndiGo for Dh770. Dubai fans can travel with Air India Express from Dh855, flydubai from Dh927 or Emirates from Dh1,086.

All about Mumbai

The busiest city in India is one of the world’s most vibrant locations. Summers in Mumbai get super hot, so try to travel in spring, autumn or winter. As the birthplace of Bollywood, catching a movie is a must – as is a visit to The Gateway of India, overlooking the Arabian ocean.

If you want a bird’s-eye view of the iconic skyline of Mumbai, take in a sunset from Malabar Hill. At last, after years of being closed to the public, the Royal Opera House in the south of the city has been fully restored and is well worth a visit.
