Nancy Ajram has millions of fans around the world – and chief among them, it seems, is one history-making fellow singer.

Chart-topper Billie Eilish gave a shout-out to the Lebanese singer this week, championing one of Ajram's tracks in her new podcast Me & Dad Radio.

Eilish, 18, who earlier this year became the youngest artist to win Grammy Awards in four major categories, revealed she loved the song Fi Hagat in the latest episode of the Apple Music show.

"I'm going to cheer myself up by playing a very special song to me that's in Arabic," said the Bad Guy singer in the podcast, which is recorded with her father, Patrick O'Connell. "This is Nancy Ajram who I love. I love Nancy Ajram and this song."

Eilish, who released her debut album last year, revealed she first discovered Ajram's music when her song Enta Eih was featured in a popular meme.

"I was like, 'listen, that's hard'. So I looked it up and started loving it and from then on, I listened to all of Nancy Ajram's stuff," she said in episode two of Me & Dad Radio, which was released on Friday, May 22.

Telling her father she didn't need to understand the lyrics to connect with the song, Eilish added that Ajram's vocals were "so crazy".

"The way Arabic music sounds is just like melted chocolate in my ears," the Ocean Eyes singer said. "Not literally, but I love this song and I love the melodies and I love the way she sings."

Eilish revealed she used to listen to Fi Hagat, which is taken from Ajram's album Nancy 7 and was released in 2010, every day in December 2018.

“I’m playing this because it puts me in a better mood,” she said.

The weekly podcast between Eilish and O'Connell features songs from myriad genres, artists and decades, as the pair reveal some of their favourite tracks and recommend songs for the other to hear.

Following the release of the latest episode, Ajram thanked Eilish for the praise on her social media.

"We love you too Billie and we are big fans of your work, the singer, 37, posted on her Instagram Stories.

"My girls are always playing your songs out loud in the house."

Ya Banat star Ajram signed her first music contract at the age of 15, and has gone on to release more than 10 studio albums and sell more than 30 million records across the world.
